Description

South Russia’s Atommash nuclear engineering plant affiliated to Rosatom state corporation shipped on Wednesday a reactor pressure vessel and steam generator for the fourth unit of Xudabao Nuclear Power Plant currently under construction in China.

Footage filmed in the city of Volgodonsk shows the shipment being moved out of the plant’s building after the personnel award ceremony was held.

"Work is now underway to manufacture steam generators for the fourth Unit of the Xudabao NPP, as well as internals and topsides for the same units for Chinese partners," plan’t director Maxim Zhidkov commented on the upcoming tasks.

According to the corporation's press service, the cargo will be delivered to the Chinese site by means of land and water transportation.

Atommash has been working closely with Chinese specialists and building equipment for Xudabao NPP, located in northeastern province of Liaoning, since 2021. Russia and China signed the general agreement for the construction of the third and fourth units with Generation III+ VVER-1200 reactors to be put into service in 2027-2028, as well as the nuclear fuel supply contract in 2019.
