Description

Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov announced on Friday that he was sending two Tesla cybertruck electric vehicles, complete with machine guns, to the Ukraine conflict zone.

Footage shows a number of the pickup trucks travelling along a dirt road. The video also shows servicemen destroying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with the guns mounted on the backs of the vehicles.

"Western equipment is perfectly capable of performing the tasks assigned to it against its own West Ukrainian NATO supporters. Mobility, comfort, manoeuvrability - such qualities of an electric vehicle are very much in demand here," Kadyrov added.

Last month, the leader said he was grateful to Tesla CEO Elon Musk for developing the cybertruck and indicated his intention to provide vehicles for use in Ukraine.

On Thursday, Kadyrov claimed Musk had 'disabled' the leader's personal gun-equipped cybertruck during combat and said it had to be 'towed' from the battlefield.

"The vehicle performed perfectly in combat. It demonstrated manoeuvrability and good crew protection. Well, Musk recently disabled the Cybertruck by remote control. That's not very gentlemanly. I had to tow it in. Come on, Elon, why? I mean, is that how you handle things?" he said.

Musk himself reacted to the reports via his social media network X: "Are you seriously so retarded that you think I donated a Cybertruck to a Russian general? That’s amazing."

He was responded to another user who claimed he was "providing vehicles ready for military use to sanctioned enemies of America."

Moscow launched a military offensive in Ukraine in late February 2022 after recognising the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR), claiming that Kiev had failed to guarantee their special status under the 2014 Minsk Agreements, and urging Ukraine to declare itself officially neutral and give assurances that it would never join NATO.

Kiev denounced the Russian action as an invasion. Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky imposed martial law throughout the country, announcing a general mobilisation, while the EU and the US imposed several rounds of sanctions on Moscow.

The date and location of the footage released on Ramzan Kadyrov's Telegram channel cannot be independently verified.
