Footage shows a parade of beautifully arranged botanical displays on platforms, depicting the Scarlet Sails as well as the bridges of Kronstadt and St. Petersburg. Moreover, artists performing with musical instruments, and people inspired by the beauty of the festival, taking pictures, can be seen.
Florist Vladimir Bermyakov noted that professionals from various parts of Russia participated in the festival.
"Around 60 people are participating here, these are florists from different cities of Russia. We have a master from Kemerovo, from Samara, from Novosibirsk. The whole geography of our country is represented here. From Moscow, of course," he said.
Another master, Roman Zarubin, said that the florists had divided the flowers into several groups 'by colours' to create the Scarlet Sails platform.
"There is a group of red flowers, which we used to create Scarlet Sails. These are anthuriums, delphiniums... Oh, I mean anthuriums, gladiolus, begonias. Here is also a group of flowers that represent the water surface. These are delphiniums, gypsophila, roses, hydrangea - all this creates a white and blue array," he claimed.
According to event visitor Sofia, the floral objects energised the city's residents with positive emotions.
It's wonderful, there are so many people, it's just delightful. Everyone is enjoying the beauty, the life, the flowers. It's so cool!" she said.
The flower festival organised by the St Petersburg Tourism Development Committee is scheduled for August 17-18 in St Petersburg.
