Description

Emergency crews were seen searching for survivors in Spain's Albacete on Wednesday, as at least 95 people were confirmed killed after the DANA storm devastated the east of the country.

Footage shows rescuers and divers digging through the debris left by the flash flooding.

DANA , the Spanish acronym for high-altitude isolated depression, tore through eastern Spain. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez called on residents to take extreme precautions, especially those living in 'orange' warning areas: Andalusia, Valencia, Aragon, Castile, and Leon; and 'yellow' warning areas: Catalonia, Extremadura, Navarre, La Rioja, and Ceuta.

According to weather reports, over a year's rain fell in just eight hours in Spain's Valencia, the region hit hardest by the storm. Local authorities warned residents to stay home and said that the number of fatalities could rise. Roads and railway lines were also cut off as an estimated 155,000 households remain without power.
