Kroshik the one-time 'monster' tabby cat - whose weight loss journey has made him an unlikely online sensation - unveiled his slightly trimmer physique on Monday, as he continued to receive care from the staff at the Matroskin shelter in the Russian city of Perm.

Footage shows him jumping on gym mats and standing on the scales for his regular weigh-in. Vets reported that he'd lost another two kilograms over the past month, thanks to diet and exercise.

"Not only has he started walking more steadily, but now he's finally able to jump on a low surface," the shelter staff explained in a statement.

Kroshik was found abandoned in a local hospital. While he was being fed by well-meaning staff, he ballooned to 17 kg - four times to recommended size - and was taken in by the shelter to save his life.
