The Innoprom international industrial exhibition began in Russia’s Yekaterinburg on Monday, with the United Arab Emirates taking part as a 'partner country'.
Representative of the Emirati delegation Hussam Azam said that his country was participating in the exhibition for the 'first time' and was presenting 'the most advanced technologies'.
"It's the sectors on metals, on products, on the latest technologies that are made in the Emirates. The most important ministers flew in yesterday: the minister of economy, the minister of industry and so on. This is the first time in history that an Arab country has become a partner country of Innoprom, and that in itself is a very great event," he said.
Footage shows the UAE's band performing at the opening ceremony, as well as visitors viewing the exhibits.
Azam added that companies from the UAE would sign 'several agreements' and 'a lot of memorandums' with Yekaterinburg companies.
Innoprom is scheduled from July 8-11. According to Russia's Trade and Industry department, around 900 companies from across 60 countries are taking part.
