Description

Emergency workers conducted a search for the plane's 'black boxes' (flight recorders) at the Sukhoi Superjet 100 crash site in the Moscow region's Kolomna urban district on Friday.

Footage shows specialists exploring the wreckage of the airplane as well as fallen trees on crash site.

Kolomna Mayor Alexander Grechishchev wrote on his Telegram channel that the 'exact location' had been determined.

"It is a forest area near the village of Bolshoye Karasevo. There is no threat to the residents of the surrounding settlements," he stated.

According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry (EMERCOM), more than 30 specialists and seven vehicles were sent to the scene to eliminate the consequences.

The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency’s (Rosaviation) spokesman Artem Korenyako said in his Telegram channel that two flight recorders had been found at the end of preliminary work.

Earlier, Russian EMERCOM reported that according to preliminary data, all three crew members on board were killed and there were no other casualties. The United Aircraft Corporation disclosed that the aircraft, which went into service in 2014, was on a transfer flight to the airport.

The Investigative Committee of Russia initiated a criminal case related to the 'violation of air transport safety regulations'. The Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) will lead the investigation into the crash, as confirmed by the press service of the Federal Air Transport Agency.
