٠٠:٠٠:٥٣A young boy from Syria appealed to President Vladimir Putin for Russian citizenship on Wednesday, as the leader attended the start of the Games of the Future in Kazan.
"I am very happy to see you. I wish to become a Russian citizen, Mr President," said the boy, an aspiring footballer.
Putin replied that he had 'every chance' of seeing his dream come true.
"We'll discuss it together. It's not hard to do," the president noted.
The 'Games of the Future' is the first ever phygital sports show to combine physical and digital competitions, though 'real-life' sports and e-sports.
The tournament will be held in Kazan from 21 February to 3 March. Around 2,000 people are expected to take part in the competition.
