White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that Biden's administration has a domestic extremism review underway, after being asked whether the US would follow Canada, which designated the far-right Proud Boys group as a terrorist entity, as she was answering questions during a press briefing in Washington DC on Wednesday.

Psaki said that a review was underway by a national security team "to take a look at violence and this type of concerning group activity across the country."

"I expect we will wait to, for that review to conclude before we make any determinations," she added.

Canada declared the far-right group a terrorist group on Wednesday, noting the role they played in the US Capitol riot on January 6.

Psaki also clarified US President Joe Biden's position on maintaining the country's Space Force, saying that they have the 'full support' of the current administration.

"As you know, it was established by Congress, and any other steps would actually have to be taken by Congress, not by the administration," she stated.

On the president's delineation about the 'vast majority' of US law enforcement officers being 'decent, honourable people,' Psaki remarked that despite reports of individuals involved in 'problematic' behaviour, the 'vast majority' were serving in vital and essential work for the American people.
