About 200 students gathered on Thursday to protest against the government's pension reform in Paris.

Footage features protesters burning and scattering garbage on the Parisian streets, blocking traffic and hindering movement. Protesters can also be seen thrashing shops and windows while marching and chanting slogans against the reforms.

The protest comes on the eve of an expected ruling over President Emmanuel Macron's pension reform by the Constitutional Council.

Demonstrations against the reform bill have intensified since Macron's government decided to bypass a vote in the National Assembly and force through the plan to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64 by 2030, as well as extend the required employment period for a worker to receive a full pension to 43 years.
