Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's restaurant group went into administration on Tuesday with the loss of around 1,000 jobs.

A view from the ground at his Barbecoa and Fifteen restaurants in London shows boarded up premises with signs informing customers of the news.

The group includes Jamie's Italian, Jamie Oliver's Diner, Barbecoa and Fifteen.

Oliver's international operations, including Jamie's Italian, Jamie's Pizzeria and Jamie's Deli, will continue to run as normal.

The entrepreneur and anti-junk food campaigner said he was "deeply saddened" by the outcome. Oliver was reported to have invested over $5 million (€4.5 million) this year, but it was not enough to stop the collapse of a business he set up in 2008.
