Prosecutors claim Enrique Tarrio, as well as Ethan Nordean, Joseph Biggs, Zachary Rehl and Dominic Pezzola, encouraged violence in the build-up to January 6, and the attack on the US Capitol by a group of Donald Trump's supporters.
Defence attorneys have pleaded not guilty to the charges, denying that the men planned or led an attack. The trial, which begins in January, could take up to six weeks.
The Capitol attack, intended to halt the certification of Joe Biden’s election win, led to nearly 1,000 arrests.
