Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held an Astana format meeting on Syria in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday.

UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen also attended the meeting.

The Astana Process was launched in 2017 in a bid to restore peace and stability in Syria by Russia and Iran, allies of the Damascus regime, and rebel-backer Turkey.
