Former Nissan chairman and chief executive Carlos Ghosn appeared at a Tokyo court for a pre-trial hearing on Thursday.

Ghosn, who is currently on bail, is facing charges ranging from falsifying financial records to redirecting company money into his own accounts.

The news of his arrest in late 2018 shocked the motor industry, as Ghosn led the sector's biggest automotive alliance of Nissan, Renault and Mitsubishi.
