Parisians expressed their opinions on the results of the first round of France's presidential elections on Monday as incumbent Emmanuel Macron and right-wing candidate Marie Le Pen are now set to face off in the runoff on April 24.

Newspaper headlines pointed to a new 'duel' between Macron and Le Pen, recalling that of the previous 2017 election whereby Macron beat Le Pen to emerge victorious in the runoff.

"It's the same duel we had 5 years ago... it's not very motivating. After all, I'm not anti-Macron, it doesn't bother me to vote for him, it's just not motivating," said a pro-Greens voter with another adding, "She (Le Pen) is so clever, she has left aside all her extreme right program, she does not talk about it anymore, she only does social work, she is excessively lying."

Macron secured more than 28 percent of the votes and will now face off Le Pen in the presidential election runoff.
