Protesters gathered in front of the Brazilian Embassy in London on Friday, to demand action against the ongoing fires that are raging in many parts of the Brazilian Amazon rainforest.

The rally was organised by the environmental activist group Extinction Rebellion to condemn the Brazilian government's environmental policies and ask for the Amazon forest to be protected.

Demonstrators were seen holding signs reading "Act for Amazonia" and "Our house is on fire," as they chanted "Bolsonaro has got to go".

Extinction Rebellion announced similar rallies in front of 22 Brazilian embassies and consulates from around the world.

On August 13, four activists from Extinction Rebellion were arrested on charges of criminal damage, after throwing red paint over the walls of the Brazilian Embassy in London, in protest against the deforestation of the Amazon rainforest and violence against the indigenous peoples who reside within it.
