Protesters marched near Santiago's Moneda presidential palace on Thursday demanding President Sebastian Pinera's resignation and calling for the freedom of the people arrested during the beginning of the so-called 'social outbreak' in October last year.

Police used water cannons and tear gas to disperse the protesters, who marched through the city blocking the traffic and disrupting some underground stations. Seven people were arrested, according to local reports.

Chile has been rocked by anti-government protests known as 'social outbreak' since October 2019, leading to a referendum on October 25 in which citizens overwhelmingly voted for a new constitution.
