French President Emmanuel Macron went to the polls to cast his vote for the first round of the presidential election Sunday morning in Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, Northern France.

Macron arrived at the polling station at Salle des Quatre Saisons with his wife Brigitte Macron, who also voted.

The French vote in the first round of the presidential election on Sunday and have to choose from 12 candidates, including current President Emmanuel Macron, far-right candidates Marine Le Pen and Eric Zemmour, and leftist Jean-Luc Melenchon. The two candidates who won the most votes in the first round advance to the second round, scheduled for April 24.
