Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe landed in the French coastal town of Biarritz's airport ahead of the G7 summit on Saturday.

A French military plane carried the Japanese Prime Minister to the airport, after which Abe and his wife were saluted by soldiers before getting into an official car. The PM is reportedly set to meet US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G7 summit for a possible trade discussion.

The G7 summit will start in Biarritz on Saturday and run from August 24 to August 26 and will see world leaders discuss topics including tackling global inequality, the US-China trade dispute, the Hong Kong protests and the climate crisis.
