Japan's new Emperor Naruhito and his Empress Masako hosted French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron in Tokyo on Thursday.

A court luncheon was also thrown in honour of the duo for Macron's first trip as French President to Japan.

Macron who arrived in Japan on Wednesday will leave Tokyo for Osaka on Friday to attend the G20 Summit.
