World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) conference will not address allegations of doping at the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA). Spokesperson James Fitzgerald confirmed the news after a press briefing in the Polish city of Katowice on Monday.

"The Executive Committee meets today and they will hear a status update, a report on the Russia situation. There will be no decision made this week as it pertains to Russia," he guaranteed.

"We issued a statement a couple of weeks ago in relating to that, so that process is ongoing, and we are moving as robustly and quickly as possible on that," Fitzgerald added.

Instead, Fitzgerald said the meeting would focus on formulating the new 2021 World Anti-Doping code and elect the agency's new president and vice-president.

The WADA Executive Commission reinstated Russia on September 20, 2018 after an almost three-year suspension. As a condition of its re-intregation into sport, RUSADA handed over data from its Moscow laboratory. In September, WADA said it had found discrepancies in that data that could lead to the country being banned from competition.

WADA's 5th World Conference on Doping in Sport kicks off in Katowice, Poland, on November 5.
