Extinction Rebellion activists glued themselves to the International Monetary Fund's building in Paris, as seen in footage on Monday.

The protest, part of the ‘Debt for climate’ global campaign, is calling for G7 leaders to scrap developing countries' debt.

"The debt of the southern countries is a vicious circle since the southern countries which are the most vulnerable to the consequences of climate change are the first affected, the least responsible," said one activist.

The demonstrators claim action on debt will give poorer countries more resources to deal with the impact of climate change. The protest comes ahead of the G7 meeting in Germany's Schloss Elmau.
