Yellow Vests and supporters took to the streets of Paris today to protest against President Emmanuel Macron's policies on Saturday, a day before the second round of the French presidential election.

Demonstrators were seen holding signs calling for fiscal and social justice, direct democracy and an end to elected officials' privileges. Other participants carried Palestinian flags and anti-climate change signs.

The protest comes a day before French voters head to the polls for the second round of the presidential election, where incumbent President Macron meets nationalist candidate Marine Le Pen in the runoff for the presidency.

Macron topped the first round of the French presidential elections with 27.6 per cent of the vote, ahead of Le Pen’s 23.4 per cent.
