Dozens of protesters were detained in Minsk on Sunday as thousands of people took part in the latest rally against Belarusian President Aleksander Lukashenko.

Gunshots were heard during the march with a government official saying they were warning shots used 'to stop protesters from violating the law.'

Belarus has been swept by anti-government protests after long-time leader Aleksander Lukashenko was re-elected for a sixth term in a disputed vote in August.
