He may be rubbing shoulders with world leaders at COP26 in Glasgow, but broadcasting legend David Attenborough appeared at Cake International in Birmingham on Sunday.

Surrounded by hippos, tigers, giraffes, crocodiles, meerkats, butterflies and toads, the Attenborough incarnation certainly stole the show at the biggest cake exhibition in the world.

Named ‘Into the Wild with David Attenborough’, the edible version of the wildlife filmmaker and scientist Sir David is being displayed among other cakes at the Cake International show from 5-7 November.

"The quality of the cakes and the artistry and stuff is absolutely amazing," said Rhys, a visitor at the event.

“Unbelievable, I think, is the best way to describe it. How you can take a medium that you would never expect to build something like that and create something like that," he added.

The show takes place at the same time as the COP26 climate change summit in Glasgow, where Sir David Attenborough held a speech telling world leaders that the world is 'already in trouble' because of the ongoing processes of burning fossil fuels and destroying nature.
