Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu in Moscow on Friday reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the completion of the partial mobilisation, under which 300,000 people were drafted and sent to the troops.

"In the course of partial mobilisation, more than 1,300 representatives of executive authorities of various levels and over 27,000 entrepreneurs were summoned up and sent to the forces. 13,000 citizens expressed their desire to fulfil their duty without getting any summons and were sent as volunteers," Shoigu said.

The Defence Minister added that the average age of the mobilised citizens was 35.

Shoigu also reported the location of those 218,000 mobilised is 'at training and combat readjustment ranges'.

"After completion of training, 82,000 people were deployed to the area of special military operation, more than 41,000 of which are active in the units," the minister said.

Shoigu added 'those who take part in combat operations will receive the status of combat veteran and a corresponding package of social benefits'.

For his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed the need 'to think through and make adjustments to the construction of all components of the Armed Forces, including the Ground Forces'.

"Have all the necessary decisions prepared and adopted in a short time, so that they are also compatible with the plans for the development of defence-industrial complex enterprises," he said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the partial mobilisation of 300,000 reservists on Wednesday, September 21.

Moscow launched a military offensive in Ukraine earlier this year, after recognising the independence of the LPR and DPR.

Kiev condemned the action, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ordered martial law and full mobilisation in February.
