Some 300 Yellow Vest protesters gathered for a regional anti-Macron rally at Lyon's Place Bellecour on Saturday.
After starting in Place Bellecour, the rally headed towards the Gailleton quay to march towards the University Bridge. Protesters dressed in yellow vests were seen banging on drums, marching with banners and chanting anti-government slogans.
"As usual, the poor will pay for that because we are more than them. The middle class, us, we are being increasingly taxed. It's a big scandal. The worst president ever," said Jean, one of the protesters.
Georges, another protester, criticised the idea of vaccination passports as an "authoritarian measure," comparing it to stars worn by Jews during World War II.
