Former Bolivian President Evo Morales visited the Bolivian community in the Isla Maciel neighborhood in the city of Avellaneda, on Monday.

Footage show Bolivian children and adults with Bolivian flags and Whipalas greeting Morales.

Morales spoke with his compatriots and urged them to regain power peacefully. "We are not going to take revenge with violence, we are not going to take revenge with aggression. We are going to recover [power] with the conscience of the people, with the people's vote in the next national elections," he said.

The same day, the former president published a series of tweets denouncing the "savagery exercised" by interim president Jeanine Anez, the opposition leader of the Santa Cruz Civic Committee, Luis Fernando Camacho and opposition candidate Carlos Mesa during what Morales describes as a "coup d'etat" against his government.

Morales fled Bolivia in November under pressure from the armed forces following the unrest over the controversial presidential election results. After a few weeks in Mexico, he was granted asylum in Argentina.
