Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak participated in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) conference session in Abu-Dhabi on Sunday.

Novak struck an optimistic tone about the oil market in 2019. "I think that the market balance will be reached in accordance with the growing demand, even the increase of demand for the supply side is possible," he told reporters.

Sitting OPEC conference president and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Energy Minister Suhail Al Mazroui called on member states to monitor changes in market conditions and achieve a balance in world oil supply.
