Current French President Emmanuel Macron spoke at an election rally in Marseille on Saturday ahead of the final week of an election where he will face off against opposition candidate Marine Le Pen from France's right-wing.

Macron faced cheering crowds before giving a speech.

"We are building solutions for tomorrow, for the France of our children, this is the project we are presenting, it is a project of simplification and initiatives made by local actors that our majors and representatives present and that some other entrepreneurs and associations are backing and that they would lead faster. It’s a project for a more beautiful and stronger France," he stated.

The first election vote held on Sunday saw 12 candidates run against each other. Macron and Le Pen received the most votes and voters will vote between them on Sunday, April 24th.
