Barber Adeson Jalal Abdull displayed his business at the Internal Displaced Person (IDP) camp Ankawa 2 Ashty in Erbil, Friday.

"I had this idea [to open a barber shop] in Qaraqosh. Before we evacuated from there I had the idea to open a shop. Thank God I opened a shop here and I started working in it" said the owner.

Abdull hails from Qaraqosh, a Christian city in territory formerly held by the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) in Northern Iraq. "First we went to Shaqllawa (near Erbil). We had people who slept on streets and stayed there. We went out from Qaraqosh and we went to Shaqllawa and after that we came to this camp" he explained.

The camp provides shelter for a total of 5,500 people in total, all Christians. It was opened on 10th April 2015.
