Judge Bruce Schroeder delayed the trial, set for March to November, as requested by Prosecutors and a defence attorney.
Rittenhouse, who is currently out on bail after an internet funding campaign enabled him to pay his $2 million (€1.65 million) bond agreed with the change of date.
The eighteen-year-old is accused of shooting three men during protests in Kenosha following the police shooting of Jacob Blake, who was left paralysed.
The three victims were Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum, who were killed, and Gaige Grosskreutz, who was seriously wounded.
