Emergency units rushed in Paris on Saturday evening after a 'Freedom Convoy' protester was reportedly severely injured by a tear gas canister during the confrontation with the police.

The protester could be seen while lying on the ground as medical professionals arrived on-site, before leaving on an ambulance.

On Saturday, hundreds of protesters blocked the streets of the French capital to demonstrate against the COVID-19 health pass, vaccinations, and other restrictions.

The demonstration was meant to be joined by the Canadian-inspired 'Freedom Convoy,' which police largely blocked from entering Paris.

Clashes between police and protesters broke out, with more than 300 fined and 54 people detained, according to Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin.
