Members of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), the Greens and the Free Democratic Party left the start of coalition talks in Berlin in good spirits.

“First impression was very good, everyone is on board, and I feel, this different approach to govern, also to dare, that is what defined the spirit today,” member of Alliance 90/The Greens Katrin Goering-Eckardt said.

Following the first get-together, members of the represented parties shared mostly positive impressions as they seek to form the new German government and install the new chancellor by early December.

“Good mood, everything (was) good. As I came in before I said that it’s less windy inside than outside. Now we’ll concentrate and work,” Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, an FDP member, told reporters.
