UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson failed in his bid for early December 12 elections at the UK Houses of Parliament in London, Monday.

MPs backed his motion for elections on December 12 by 299 votes for with 70 against, leaving Johnson short of the two-thirds majority needed of the total 434 MPs after the entire Labour frontbench abstained.

Johnson announced that he would try to call early elections again under legislation that only required a simple majority in parliament, needing only 320 votes this time.
