Clashes broke out between supporters of Bolivian President Evo Morales and opposition demonstrators in Cochabamba on Monday. Footage shows police attempting to disperse the crowd using tear gas.

Protests have erupted across Bolivia following the announcement of the results of the October 20 presidential elections. The opposition accuses Morales of electoral fraud and calls for a second round, while Morales says a coup d'état was being planned against him.

The president has called on supporters to peacefully mobilize to 'defend democracy', with road blockades being set up across the country from Sunday night onwards. In addition to Cochabamba, protests and clashes have also taken place in La Paz and Santa Cruz.
