Defence attorney Mark Richards said Kyle Rittenhouse acted only in self-defence when he fatally shot two protesters last year and should be acquitted, as the defence presented their closing arguments in the murder trial in Kenosha on Monday.

Eighteen-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse is accused of shooting three men during protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin, following the police shooting of Jacob Blake, who was left paralysed.

The three victims were Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum, who were killed, and Gaige Grosskreutz, who was seriously wounded.
