Supporters of Bolivia's former President Evo Morales took to the streets of the Argentinean capital Buenos Aires on Monday to protest against his resignation.

Footage shows demonstrators carrying the Wiphala, a flag representing native communities of the Andes and Bolivian flags, chanting slogans in support of Morales. People were also seen drawing Morales's portrait. Some protesters were spotted crying.

On Sunday, Bolivian President Evo Morales announced his resignation, following weeks of unrest in the wake of the disputed October 20 presidential election.

Morales said he had received threats from opposition leaders and was eventually forced by the country's military to step down.
