The launch of the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS) from Baikonur Cosmodrome was cancelled on Thursday.

Footage shows smoke rising from the launch pad of the Soyuz-2.1a rocket and spacecraft.

Mission control can be heard stating: "Attention! There was an automatic launch cancellation at the launch site. Reset the units of the launch site, prepare for 24-hour halt."

The launch was scheduled to take place at 13:21 GMT. On board the spacecraft were cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky of Roscosmos, Marina Vasilevskaya from Belarus, and NASA astronaut Tracy Dyson. All were reported to be safe.
