Mongolia held a cultural festival for Russian servicemen at the Choibalsan training ground on Friday as part of the Selenga-2024 joint military drills.
Footage features Mongolian soldiers demonstrating their excellent combat skills to their Russian colleagues, as well as artists in traditional costumes performing songs and dances accompanied by live music.
"Today we organised a Day of Mongolia as part of the Selenga-2024 joint combat drills. We presented our national dishes as well as national songs and performances," said one of the organisers.
The festival participants also participated in traditional Mongolian sports such as wrestling, archery, and dice throwing.
According to the press service of the Russian Defence Ministry (MoD), the Mongolian servicemen will have the opportunity to learn about Russian culture and enjoy traditional dishes.
The Selenga Russian-Mongolian exercise has been held annually since 2008 and is aimed at preparing troops to combat terrorism.
The training reportedly involved 200 units of hardware and 700 people including Russian and Mongolian special forces, ground troops as well as air and space forces.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has also announced that the drills will include joint training in tactical operations, Mongolian and Russian cultural events, as well as live-fire exercises involving the practice of tactical actions to locate, block, and destroy suspected illegal armed groups.
