Footage shows a crowd of protesters standing in front of the government building and chanting slogans demanding the resignation of the incumbent president. Access to the building was blocked by police during the protest.
At the time of publication, there is no official information on the number of arrests.
The official website of 'Shor' reported that protesters came to the government building to demand an audience with Prime Minister Dorin Recean on Tuesday.
One of the protesters expressed dissatisfaction that the authorities ignore the demands of citizens, despite the long protests.
"We have been here for so many months since last year, months in a row, for so many weekends we go out. We've been freezing and shouting, and they don't care, she [President Maia Sandu] doesn't hear us," the woman said.
Chisinau residents gathered for another rally against rising prices and tariffs for gas, electricity and heating on Sunday.
The vice-president of the 'Shor' party, Marina Tauber, passed a resolution to the government, demanding that it should solve the issue of payment of gas, electricity and heating bills for the three winter months within 24 hours. However, according to the party, the government did not comply with the conditions.
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu stated that the Russian state is behind the opposition movement, whose goal is to stop 'the process of European integration' and to use Moldova 'in the war against Ukraine'.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Tuesday that statements on Moscow's involvement in the opposition protests in Chisinau 'were ridiculed in Moldova itself'.
"Nothing is more absurd than blaming Russia for what is happening there now. We see how the leadership of this country has taken a course against the people of their own state," Zakharova said.
Protests in Moldova have not stopped since September 2022.
