Residents of the Russian cities congratulated compatriots on the upcoming 2024 year and shared their New Year traditions.
Footage taken on Friday shows people walking along decorated central streets in Vladivostok, Kazan and St Petersburg.
"My favourite New Year tradition is to make dumplings with my family. I am from Bashkiria myself, and I will be visiting Bashkiria for New Year's Eve, so I will celebrate with my family there, making dumplings," - Sofya from Kazan shared.
For Andrey from Vladivostok, it is important to spend New Year's Eve with loved ones.
"New Year's Eve should be celebrated with the family. When we have such an opportunity, no other options are considered," - he said.
Resident of St Petersburg, the Russian Northern Capital, Nadezhda also shared plans on how traditional her holiday celebration is going to be.
"We decided to celebrate like our parents, which means we will make salads, dress in the 80's style, something like that with herring under a fur coat salad, Russian salad, compote (stewed fruit), and jam. Everything is traditional just like our parents did," - she said.
St Petersburg resident agreed on everyone's adherence to New Year's Eve traditions.
"Big bowl of Russian salad for a three-day meal, aspic, herring under a fur coat, and red caviar, of course," - he said.
Elena from St. Petersburg wished Russians the ability to notice good things around because 'every day happiness comes our way'.
