Live from NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre in Florida on Thursday, October 10, as NASA's Europa Clipper launches into space, destined for the Galilean moon of Jupiter.

The spacecraft, launched via SpaceX's Falcon Heavy rocket, is the largest ever built by NASA for a planetary mission, and will conduct 49 close flybys of Europa.

It has nine science instruments and a gravity experiment, and will operate all simultaneously on each pass, via the telecommunications system.

Jupiter's Galilean moons, the four largest of the planet's satellites, comprise Europa, Io, Ganymede and Callisto.
