Description

Londoners welcomed 2024 with the capital's largest fireworks and drone show ever, taking place over the River Thames in the early hours of Monday.

Tens of thousands can be heard cheering and counting down the seconds before Big Ben struck midnight. Some among the crowd can be seen filming the fireworks while others were spotted taking to boats to watch the sky light up with drones and pyrotechnics.

The drones were seen forming a message reading ‘London, a place for everyone’ to kick off the New Year.

The city's mayor, Sadiq Khan, said it was the largest fireworks display that London had ever seen, with over 10,000 launched in just under 15 minutes. He added that the city began planning for this year’s show back in July.
