A car was set on fire during the protests. The vehicle was seen burning before firefighters arrived on site to put out the fire.
An Israeli man reportedly fired into the air after the incident.
At least nine Palestinians were arrested.
Faced with an eviction threat, dozens of neighbourhood residents have been organising sit-ins over the past several days in the area.
The threat follows a recent verdict by the Jerusalem District Court which ruled that at least six families in the area must leave their homes in Sheikh Jarrah in upcoming weeks, despite having lived in the neighbourhood for generations.
The court also ruled that seven other families must leave their homes by August 1. Fifty-eight local residents, including 17 children, are expected to be displaced in the process to make way for new settlements in the neighbourhood.
