Description

Tunis residents were massively purchasing food at local markets on Thursday, ahead of the instauration of a nighttime curfew enforced by the government as part of its effort to curb COVID infections.

The Tunisian government has implemented new tightened measures starting on Thursday, January 13, for two weeks, including a nightly curfew from 22:00 at night until 05:00 in the morning. If required, this measure could be prolonged further, according to the Ministry of Health.

Additionally, all public events held outdoor will be cancelled. The obligatory use of masks and social distancing will be strengthened, and the borders will be implemented with testing when entering the country.
