Description

A political process must be started in addition to the implementation of the ceasefire to ultimately settle the conflict in east Ukraine, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said in Berlin, Monday, adding that the Minsk agreements from February 12 have been reaffirmed. Speaking at a press conference following a meeting between the FMs of France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine, Steinmeier also noted that the ministers agreed on extending the list of weaponry to be withdrawn from the line of engagement to tanks, armoured vehicles and heavy arms with a calibre smaller than 100mm.

The foreign ministers of France, Ukraine, Russia and Germany came together for a fresh round of 'Normandy format' diplomatic talks at the Foreign Ministry's guesthouse, Villa Borsig to discuss the implementation of the Minsk agreements from February 12 and to try to resolve the crisis in east Ukraine.
