"I've lived here all my life, pretty much. I think that what they're doing is taking the necessary steps to keep us safe, and I do feel safe with the extra precautions, regardless of what may happen," said local resident Bradley.
A massive US National Guard presence spent the latter part of the week erecting the security measures. The National Guard announced that it will send over 21,000 troops from around the US in order to increase security for January 20th when the inauguration will take place.
"I think it's warranted because of what happened last Wednesday," stated local resident Chu. "I'm happy they are doing it, but it's also sad, it shouldn't be like this," Chu added.
Security is on high alert nationwide after the FBI warned the country about possible planned attacks on similar buildings after the last week's shocking US Capitol storming.
