Wildfires continued to rage in the northern regions on Brazil on Thursday, after burning for two weeks in the states of Rondonia and Amazonas.

Footage shot on Thursday near highway BR-319 in Porto Velho on the edge of the rainforest shows the aftermath of the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires in many parts of the Brazilian Amazon.

On Thursday, Brazil's National Institute for Space Research reported that wildfires were spreading with a record speed saying its data showed an 84 percent increase as compared to the same period last year.
