Dubai police department brought delight to visitors with a stunning traditional cannon firing performance to mark the beginning of Eid al-Fitr after Ramadan holy month on Wednesday.

Footage features dozens of visitors gathering at the square in front of the Burj Khalifa building, where they could be seen posing for pictures with the cannon and the Dubai police officers.

"Tomorrow is the first day of Eid al-Fitr. Happy Eid for all! It was the fastest month of Ramadan that has passed for me, away from my country. Also, this is the first time I fasted during the month of Ramadan away from my family, but the Emirates is my second country. Happy Eid for everyone and a happy Eid to all of you, God willing," a visitor shared.

The cannon firing occurs in many locations across the UAE, a continuous Ramadan tradition since the 1930s. A cannon was traditionally the best way to let people know that it was time to end their fasts.

Eid al-Fitr comes at the end of the holy month of Ramadan and is one of the main religious holidays of Islam. Eid al-Fitr is marked on April 10-12 in UAE this year.
